Dr. Dean Manus completed his four year bachelor of science (B.S.) degree at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, graduating cum laude. He then attended Rush Medical College in Chicago where he received the Herrick National Research Fellowship and earned his medical degree (M.D.).
Dr. Manus went on to complete a five year general surgery residency at the University of California, San Francisco. He then returned to Michigan where he completed a two year residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the Craniofacial Institute. He became Double Board Certified by both the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He is now a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (F.A.C.S.).
Dr. Manus first practiced in Chicago, where he specialized in aesthetic plastic surgery prior to his recruitment to Beverly Hills. He was voted by his peers as one of "Chicago's Top Doctors". He has subsequently been listed as one of "America's Top Plastic Surgeons" and "America's Top Physicians" numerous times. He has lectured extensively before national audiences of healthcare professionals, and is an internationally published author in the field of plastic surgery. He is now regularly featured on numerous television programs and networks (click the "Know Your Doctor" tab above).
Of interest, and consistent with Dr. Manus' history of excellence, he was inducted into the Sports Hall of Fame in 1994 as a world class gymnast. He holds numerous honors and awards, and was formerly ranked number one in the world on the parallel bars, and continued to compete throughout his medical school career. In addition, Dr. Manus holds a multiengine rating as a private pilot.
